CW5 Ed Tatlock
Ed Tatlock joined the United States Army as an enlisted man in November 1967 until September 1969 when he became a Warrant Officer and a pilot. He served in Vietnam before leaving active duty in January 1973.
Tatlock returned to military aviation when he Jointed the Kentucky Army National Guard as a Warrant Officer in October 1981 where he served until his retirement in April 2002 at the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 5.
Tatlock is qualified as an instructor pilot on seven fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft: OH-58 Kiowa, UH-1 Huey, AH-1 Cobra, UH-60 Black Hawk, T-42 Cochise, U-21 Ute, C-12 Huron with more than 12,000 flight hours in his career.
His Awards and Decorations include: Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal (45), Army Commendation Medal (3) Army Achievement Medal (4), Good Conduct Medal, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal (2), National Defense Service Medal (2), Vietnam Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal Kentucky Distinguished Service Medal, Kentucky Merit Ribbon, Kentucky Commendation Ribbon, Kentucky Service Ribbon, Kentucky State Active Duty Ribbon.
While he was in command of the Detachment 11 Operational Support Airlift Command (OSACOM) the unit was recognized as the State Flight Detachment of the Year in 1999 and twice as State Flight Detachment for the Quarter in the 4th Qtr 2000 and again in the 1st Qtr 2002 in competition with units across the United States.
